Our crew

What an estimate costs

Free

We measure the house and put the quote in writing.

Who we are

A small company that does the whole job.

Most of our work is replacing old furnaces and converting homes from oil or electric heat to gas. We size every system for the house it goes in, handle the duct work ourselves, and come back the next season to check on it.

Measured before we quote

We come out and measure the house first, so the system we recommend is sized for the house it goes in, not guessed from the old one.

Explained before work starts

Repairs are diagnosed and explained before we touch anything. You'll know what's wrong and what we plan to do.

Old furnaces, new gas heat

Replacing tired furnaces and moving homes off oil or electric heat is most of what we do.

Sized for our winters

Modern heat pumps heat well in our climate. For the coldest nights, we size a backup heat source.

A recent job

An older ranch house that finally got warm in the back bedrooms

The family had lived with cold back bedrooms for years and assumed it was the furnace.

It was partly the furnace, a tired older unit, and partly a single undersized return. We sized a new Goodman furnace for the house, added a second return in the hallway, and balanced the dampers room by room.

The back bedrooms now sit close to the living room's temperature, and the furnace runs shorter, quieter cycles. Before we left we walked the homeowner through what we did, left the readings on the service sheet, and booked a check-in for the next season.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

A sun-baked living room on a hot afternoon with a floor fan running and a thermostat on the wall

Which rooms run too hot or too cold is good to mention when you call.

My furnace starts then shuts off. Why?

A dirty flame sensor or a clogged filter are the usual causes. Both are quick fixes. If it turns out to be something else, we diagnose it and explain it before any work starts.

Can my oil furnace be converted to gas?

Usually it is replaced with a gas furnace rather than converted. We check that gas service can reach the house first. Oil-to-gas and electric-to-gas changes are a large part of what we do.

Will a heat pump keep up in winter?

Modern heat pumps heat well in our climate. For the coldest nights we size a backup heat source.

Do you subcontract the duct work?

No. Our own crew supplies and installs it, so the duct work is done by the same company that sized the system.

Is the estimate free?

Yes. Estimates and quotes are free. We come out, measure the house, and give you a written quote.

What equipment do you install?

We install Goodman equipment, sized for the house it goes in.

Do you work outside Milwaukie?

Yes. We work in Oak Grove, Gladstone and Sellwood, and the rest of the east side by arrangement.
